This manual has 28 pages and is 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" This is written as two friends talking, and one is explaining the details of a U-Boat to the other. Drive system (diesel and electric), torpedoes, submerging, surfacing, firing topedoes by using the periscope, navigation, and steering the boat are all briefly explained. It's not an operations manual, there are no great revelations in it about tactics. It is a simple manual, meant to describe U-Boat operations to young, draft-age Germans, and includes a few pages at the back about how and where to sign up for the Kriegsmarine. I believe this was meant for the highschool or tradeschool graduate to entice them to enlist. Interesting, but not very technical.Very few of these types of manuals made it through WW2 and with originals going for over 200.00 we were very fortunate to find one to translate for you.
