Description: This is a Vintage Topeka High School Commencement Program from 1945 Kansas. Also, an Original yellow and black Tassel, the Topeka High School colors. I found these items in the Evanston Illinois estate of Robert Russell Jones and Dorothy Vincent Jones, both of whom are listed as graduates. The Jones’ moved to the Chicago area as adults. The booklet and tassel are both in good vintage condition (see photos). For a bit more history, Robert Russell Jones’ mother was Marie Carter, the great great granddaughter of the Potawatomi missionary Robert Simerwell. Her great grandmother was Elizabeth Simerwell Carter, the first white female born in Kansas.
