Description: FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE... Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal. Wooden toothpick dispenser in the shape of a vase or bottle. Made of wood, the finish is painted to resemble stone and is fitted with accents in a silver toned metal. It is possible the accents are thin stamped Portuguese silver, however, there are no hallmarks to confirm this. In Portuguese language, it is labeled "Palitos", (Toothpicks). It stands 5 1/2 inches tall, signed on the bottom as illustrated, "Do Oliveira" and dated 1975. Could be traced to a famous restaurant on mainland Portugal, Tasquinha Do Oliveira. In close to its original condition with no cracks in the wood, wear to the finish or loose elements. I inserted a standard size playing card in one photo as a reference for size. MUCH OBLIGED
