Van Dell sterling necklaces and jewelry is getting harder to find in excellent vintage condition. Since there is usually great detail add ons, pearls or semi precious stones or crystals finding them in great condition is exciting. This necklace would be a wonderful gift to a vintage jewelry collector or a fantastic addition to your ever growing collection. To me, it is in excellent vintage condition, meaning gently worn and well taken care of - wear consistent with age. I did not clean or polish the necklace. Some folks like vintage items in their found state with some patina and I did not want to damage the pearls while polishing the silver. With that in mind, I leave all polishing and cleaning up to the buyer. For weight and metal purity I rely on the results of my Fusion scale and the common Puri Test Acid tests.
