Description: Stunning and rare double floating opal necklace designed by Horace H. Welch, a mechanical engineer turned jeweler, born in 1871. Appearing much like a miniature snow globe, the floating opal is essentially comprised of small pieces of opal encased in a liquid-filled glass orb. This necklace is truly unique and breathtaking when the light hits and the fire of the opal is displayed. The caps of the globes are marked “PATS. PEND.” And 14k, Indicating they were manufactured between 1925 and 1931. There are small dark spots in both globes- I have captured these for your review in the pictures. Please let me know if you have any questions! Signature will be required for delivery.
