Description: Vintage Postcard - Leningrad Admiralty Embankment, USSR, 1960s Cold WarThis hard-to-find postcard was sent from behind the USSR Iron Curtain during the Cold War, c1966. Dating is based on the postage stamps and knowledge of the sender. Scene is the Admiralty Embankment in Leningrad. The building was the headquarters of the Admiralty Board and the Imperial Russian Navy and is now headquarters of the Russian Navy. The lion statue stands guard of the Neva River. Two men stand in the foreground at what appears to be dusk. There are two 1966 Russian stamps - one of a steel worker and one of a Russian space ship landing on the moon. Size is 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. The photo on the front is very grainy with poor quality - this is not due to poor condition of the card. It's the original focus and time of day. The card and stamps are in very good condition. The card has some wear and tear from age on the corners and edges. See the photos for details. Lots of history packed into one little postcard.Free shipping.
