Description: Vintage Pacific Northwest Studio Pottery Vase by Barbara Brotman. Etched Brotman on base. Measures 4 inches in height and 3 1/2 inches diameter. Condition: No cracks or chips. Loss of glaze all around vase upper part of abstract image. Could be intentional but not sure. Barbara Brotman (1927-2000) Born in Orange, New Jersey and attended Mills College. Though mostly a self taught potter she attended pottery workshops taught by Antonio Prieto, Peter Volkous, Ben Sams and Don Rietz. Barbara exhibited her work at local northwest craft shows along with the Weaver's Guild Clay Club Exhibition in 1960, Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair, NW Craftsmen, Museum of Contemporary Crafts New York City, Museum of Southern California Craft Exhibition 1961 and the Fry Art Museum
