Description: Owl desk pencil caddy. Turned wood vessel that has additional recessed carving of an owl. Glass eyes. Nice quality piece likely originally sold as a tourist souvenir. Slight crack in ear but intact. Location nicely carved on back side as "Lillebaeltsbroen". History : Lillebltsbro or Little Belts bridgeoverLillebltwas the first fixed connection between mainland Denmark called Jutland and the island of Funen. The combined road and rail bridge was built in part during the Great Depression to keep unemployment down;work was started in 1929 and work stretched into 1935. Great piece fresh out of my personal folk art collection.
