Description: This Irish linen tea towel features a brightly colored map of the London Underground. Designed by Harold Hutchison in 1960 with permission of The London Transport, it was made in Ireland of "All Pure Linen". This towel measures 30" long and 20" wide. The background is a linen white color, the graphics are bold and colorful. The towel's border is a baby blue. There are no rips, tears, holes, or worn spots. The towel has a soft drape. This towel belonged to a woman who was a world traveler. She traveled in London in the very early 1960s and purchased this towel as a souvenir. The towel is in very good condition for being 64 years old so was likely never used as a towel but as a display piece. This was safely stored with other linens for many years. I rinsed the towel and let it air dry before photographing and listing. Use this as a tea towel, or as a scarf, or frame it and hang it as decor. Perfect for the world traveler or Anglophile.
