Description: Vintage 1966 Mattel Baby Walk ‘n See Doll w/ Box I could not find much info on this doll. There is a 1964 date on the doll below the battery compartment and 1966 on the box. She is supposed to skate with her eyes looking around as she does. I did insert two D batteries and push the switch to the on position. Nothing happened. I did not test it beyond that. Cosmetically, the doll appears to be in good shape with some aging of the clothing. The female part of the back snap on the dress is missing. I do not see anything amiss with the plastic parts. The battery compartment is clean. Kindly use the pictures to assess condition for yourself. The cardboard of the box is fragile at the top and pieces have broken off, but all of it is present. A careful person could put it back together using an archival adhesive. Here’s a couple of interesting things about the doll. It wasn’t cheap. The $18.99 price tag would be close to $200 in 2024 dollars. Also “On display” is written on the box top. I’m inferring that this doll was the one they had displayed in the Sears store where it was sold. Measures 18” tall, 19” with the skates. Please examine the photos closely and email any questions.
