Description: Vintage 1950s "Spag's Department Store" mixing bowl by Fire King. Spag's was a discount department store on Route 9 in Shrewsbury, Massachussetts, and considered an early pioneer of discount retailing. Sadly, it closed in 2002. This bowl belonged to my great-aunt, who was a Spag's shopper from its beginnings in the 1950s! There are not a lot of these out there. It would be a coveted gift for the Spag's fan, Fire King collector, or red & white collector. It is in good vintage condition, with some fading of the red and some scratches inside the bowl from use (many cookies!) - but no chips or cracks.
