Description: Victorian Walnut 8 Day Parlor Clock ~ Rare 3 Wind Movement Click images to enlarge Description This is a very old and somewhat unusual clock, dating back to the late Victorian period. It was made by the New Haven / Jerome Clock Company in New Haven, Connecticut, probably during the 1870's. It is carved out of solid American walnut. It was probably originally finished in a dark walnut stain that someone has stripped down to the natural walnut at one time over the years. However, this medium brown American walnut color is equally attractive and blends nicely with almost any decor. Since it is very early hardwood, you will notice a couple of naturally occurring pressure splits. It has the original and scarce to find, three wind New Haven 8 Day Time, Strike and Alarm movement (notice the three winding arbors in the dial) that has been cleaned and is in good running and striking condition. Even the alarm is still functional. It measures 20 ½" tall x 12 ¼" wide x 5" deep, and comes complete with a key and pendulum. We cannot guarantee that a clock will not break down, but will not sell anything that we expect to break down without noting that it is being sold as parts or for restoration.
