Description: Mercury gold chestnuts are very rare. They are as rare as the orange hawkeye balls but perhaps not as rare as the illusive burgoon ball. This is a prime example that has never been used outside on a lightning rod. This ball has its original tube, caps and putty. There are only a few tiny spots of rust on the inside of the metal tube from moisture in the air. If it had been used the entire inside of the tube would be rusted or even destroyed and gone from rust. There are no chips, cracks, holes or repairs on this ball. The nitrate like coating on the inside of the dark root beer amber glass is not sun or moisture damaged. Every square inch of this ball is taken in the photos. Being glass over a hundred years old it has a few extremely tiny bubbles in it that are difficult to see. I mentioned that for a precise description. This measures 4 1/8” tall and 4” wide. This will be inspected for any damage like chips, cracks or repairs, packed, insured and shipped by Goin Postal personnel. They are no nonsense and will not insure a damaged item. This way you may rest assured that this is a forthright and honest sale. They will ship it by UPS, USPS or FedEx. Someone will have to be home to sign for it.
