V61VW VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE KEY 1961-1966 "SV" Profile VW BUG Ignition Type 1

Description: V61VW BLANK FOR: Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle Fits 1961 - 1966 PROFILE: "SV" CODE SERIES SV1 - SV240 Key is stamped V61VW and works as a replacement for keys with the part number 62VK, V12, V68L, or VO6R. If your keys have one of these part numbers on them, you have the right key. If not, compare the grooves of your key vs. the pictures closely as they must match exactly. Another clue is if you have a KEY CODE manually stamped on your key, in this case "SV" followed by some numbers from 1 to 240. There were also SC, SU, and SE profiles used during this time, those profiles require a different key. Check carefully as manufacturers were less careful about using the same key profile type consistently back in the day and locks can get changed over the years. IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE: This early 60's beetle key has a short groove on the LEFT side of the shaft (Pic #2). If your key has it on the RIGHT, then use key U61VW in my other listing.
