Scarce large 19th century antique engraved map. By an early American engraver. Pictorial cartouche lower left which depicts warriors fighting and a ship wreck scene. A simplistic almost amateur cartographic engraving technique unique to this early American era of engraving on metal. Map remains mostly clean, minor small scattered spots or stains. Lower left blank margin cut close by publisher to facilitate folding, a clean closed 5" tear up from inset tab running along the side graticule, all of which are easy to overlook or forgive visually.
