Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This auction is for a set of three different San Diego weekly surveys from 1969 and 1970. The oldest is a KCBQ radio music survey dated May 2,1969 that features the late Robert L. Collins on the cover. The No. 1 song was Hair by The Cowsills. The inside panel mentions how DJs interact with the community, and is the only mention anywhere is Mel Harrison who was at the station for only a couple of weeks. A Macleans toothpaste ad is on the back. The survey is in almost excellent condition with slight yellowing on the edge. The second is a KGB weekly radio music survey dated November 12,1969 that features the late Bob Foster on the cover. The No. 1 songs were 'Something' and 'Come Together' by the Beatles. The inside panel has a photo of the Carol Gonzalez family who won a cash jackpot. The $12,625 amount exemplifies the intense competition with KCBQ at the time. This amount could buy a nice car or cover the majority of a house purchase then. A Protein 29 shampoo ad is on the back. The survey is in excellent condition. The third survey is a KCBQ San Diego weekly radio music survey dated April 17, 1970 that features the late Harry 'Happy Hare' Martin on the cover. The No. 1 song was Something's Burning by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. The inside panel features DJ Robert L. Collins giving contest winners Mr. and Mrs. George Elo a hefty check of $3582. 97 (in 1970 dollars). A milk ad is on the back. The survey is in almost excellent condition. A slight uneven tear is along the edge where the survey was separated from another during production.
