Description: This is a really rare Machine Age/Art Deco cross-era aluminum lamp called “The Luminator’ developed by Albert Arenberg. The information on this company suggests that Arenberg had hired Bauhaus-trained designers Wolfgang and Pola Hoffman, son and daughter-in-law to famed architect/designer Josef Hoffman, to design this lamp series. With a 1929 patent, the lamp is over 90 years old. While the lamp is in overall good working condition, it has minor scuffs, dents, abrasions and scratches that I have tried to show in the pictures. So, it could use a bit of polishing if the new owner wants to do so. Also, while the electrical is working, it would be advisable to rewire it. The lamp has a Mogul E39 socket that can handle up to 300 watt bulbs. E39-to-E26 bulbs socket adapters are readily available for online purchase if you want to use a standard bulb. The dimensions are 14.75 inches tall, 8.25 inches diameter at the base, and 11.75 inches diameter at the top. The thinnest section of the lamp has a diameter of 2.75 inches before it starts to widen as it goes towards the top. Review the pictures to assess the condition in more detail. Don’t miss your opportunity to acquire this really unique piece of lamp design history. Returns are not accepted, so be sure to ask if you have any questions before you place a bid. Shipping cost to the lower 48 states is $48.00. Just ask and I will calculate shipment cost to Alaska and Hawaii.
