Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This interesting book, written by a former President of Israel, was published in 1984, and covers the first 30-plus years of Israel’s existence as an independent nation, during which time it was under almost continual attack by its neighbors, especially Egypt and Syria. Apart from the 1948-49 War of Independence, the book covers the Sinai Campaign of 1956, the Six Day War of 1967, the Yom Kippur War of 1973, the Entebbe rescue mission of 1976, and the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. It also discusses the internal fight against Palestinian terrorism, and the attempts made over the years to combat it. The book is a valuable work by someone who was very much involved in the leadership process in Israel during that time, and is an excellent introduction to where a lot of current day Israeli political and military thinking comes from. This 1984 Trade Paperback is in good condition, with no internal markings other than a slight yellowing of the pages, and a cover with minor wear at the edges.
