Description: Sterling Silver Trachea Tube Marked Ditmar This is a sterling silver tracheotomy tube probably made in the USA by Ditmar. The trachea tube is vintage, so does show some signs of being used, but not abused. The trachea tube is NOT new but is in very good vintage condition with some scratches consistent with normal use. This trachea tube is not monogrammed and has not been buffed. I am told that it was in an autoclave before coming to me. Most medical tools used to be made of sterling silver until the lesser expensive stainless steel became popular in use. The trachea tube measures approximately 2 1/2" long. The trachea tube is marked sterling, Ditmar and with the number "1" which I believe refers to the size of the tube and I believe that the number 1 size is the smaller or maybe even the smallest size. So, this trachea tube may have been intended for use on a child. This would make a great gift for a graduating doctor or a collector of medical instruments. Buyer does pay shippin/insurance costs and ebay sales tax if it applies. Glad to combine shipping costs.
