Small Antique Victorian Brook's Advertising Sewing Box w/Latch & Hinges

Description: Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Antique boxes. Nice old antique small advertising sewing cotton box. Probably late Victorian. The Brooks box would date between 1859 and 1896 when Brooks amalgamated with JB Coats. Probably dates to the 1890s. The box is now empty. This Brooks sewing cotton advertising box is wood with a paper covering with flowers and a border. There is a front latch that hooks on its original nail and 2 hinges on the back. It has Brooks advertising on the bottom. Inside the lid there is a sepia picture of buildings and Brook's Sewing Cottons. Antique. Over 100 years old. Fair to good condition for age. Hinges in good condition. Latch in good condition. The box is paper over wood. The paper has printed flowers and a border. The paper is discolored and a bit dingy from age. There is a small area of paper loss on lid ( last pic). Minor wear as to be expected. Still in better condition than most of these I come across. Small size measuring about 5" wide, 4" deep, 2" tall. Selling as pictured (empty box only). Pictures considered part of the description. Shipping total includes insurance, and tracking. BID WITH CONFIDENCE . In the unlikely event an item is damaged or lost by the mail/shipper we will work with you to help you file your claim, but the settlement will be between you and the carrier.
