Description: A useful set of 26x unused, British army pattern AMMUNITION (AMMO) BOOT HOBNAILS. This pattern of criss-crossed grooved, flat-ended hobnails are of the type used by the British military during WW1 and WW2, and then on into the post war era. There's enough here (ie-26) to accommodate the final 'War Economy' arrangement for studding ammo boots - the order coming in from August 1942; that saw 13 hobnails on each boot (see featured photos which illustrates how the arrangements changed throughout the war - NB: We also have these available in multiples of 30 & 50, along with the stud variety - see our other lots listed in our eBay shop).
