Description: Seashell pendants 4 local embellished by Pat2 turtle faux pearls FOUR Pat2 pendants 4 embellished local seashells beads turtle faux pearls bails FOURZZ391 These seashells were picked up earlier this spring/summer at Melbourne Beach, near my home. Being from the Midwest, scouting for shells is so fun! I turned each of these into a small pendant..here are the details: Calico scallop with purple blotches - unusual, yes? I coated the outside with pearly lacquer and used a classic bail with leaf like bottom; that is cemented into the inside of the shell, along the fluted rim. This shell measures 1 5/8 inches wide X 1 5/8 inches tall, plus the 3/8 inch shiny silvertone bail with 1/4 inch opening. Cockle, might be Prickly Cockle, anyway it is a very common shell found here on the Space Coast. This one is offwhite with deep rigids and a pointy end, with horizontal rays of beige and gray. For embellishment, I cemented an 8mm bright aqua glass pearl into the inside 'pocket' and for a bail, cemented on a silvertone sea turtle. It is 1 3/8 inches wide X 1 1/8 inches tall, plus the 3/8 inch bail with 3/16 inch opening. Cockle, this one with very light gray overtones, definite ribs and the inside is light gray, too. I tucked three faux pearls inside, connected to the handmade wirework bail. It is 1 1/4 inches wide X 1 1/8 inches tall with 3/16 inch round opening. Cockle, this one sort of cream colored with white rim and bright white inside. It is upside down from the other cockles, in that the bail is on the long fluted end. I wirewrapped pink craft wire into a fancy double bail and strung some 4mm pink faceted crystals onto the bail and the front wires. The back wire is twisted and braces the design, with wire spirals and more crystals. It measures 1 1/2 inches wide X 1 3/8 inches tall with narrow (because of the crystals), 1/4 inch bail opening.
