Description: Folding sail kit clamps onto your West Marine Water Tender and makes it into a real sailboat in just minutes. Just turn 3 knobs on the front assembly and 2 on the rudder to clamp it on. That's all you do. Then snap-in the leeboards (included) and pop in the mast with sail and spars and you are ready to go! Sail kit only. Buy the dinghy hull from West Marine or on Amazon or Walmart from Sun Dolphin. Google "West Marine Water Tender" or "Sun Dolphin Water Tender." They are only about $600 and sometimes less than that. Hull not included in this listing. This sail kit is only for the West Marine "Water Tender" or Sun Dolphin "Water Tender." It will not fit any other boat we know of. It will not (repeat: NOT) fit the West Marine Classic Dinghy. See our other listings for sail kits for other boats. Sail Size: Please select 45 square foot or 55 square foot sail. The 55 is shown in the photos. The 45 is not as tall, but the same width. Included with the 55 SF sail is a taller and stronger mast and a spar extension, both of which are necessary to support the larger sail. The 45 will give you a perfectly satisfactory recreational sailing experience. The 55 will let you go faster, particularly in light winds (under 10 mph wind speed). Over 10 mph wind speed you can still use the 55, but the speed difference between the two sail sizes diminishes as windspeed increases. Note that the price changes when you change the sail size in the drop-down box above.
