Description: This is a ROGASKA GALLIA hand-blown Crystal High Urn Vase that measures approximately 13¼" Tall by 7" at widest point, part of a collection of over 70 pieces of this crystal. All purchased in the 1980's from department stores, Read's & G Fox who have both since gone out of business. Each gracious piece is hand-blown, hand-cut and hand-etched by Yugoslavian artisans. Rogaška is no stranger to presidents and royalty, including Britain’s Queen Elizabeth. Since its founding in 1665, the Slovenia-made glassware has been presented as protocol gifts or as trophies in major sports and other competitions around the world. It’s all hand made in the eastern Slovenia town of Rogaška Slatina. Legend has it that the healing waters of the Rogaška Spring burst forth on the exact spot where the winged stallion Pegasus struck its hoof, explaining the flying horse emblem on the Rogaška logo. In the 1800s, European nobility gathered to sip the local spring water from the crystal goblets produced there.
