Description: This is a basic fixed depth 3 baffle Sump/Refugium kit for 20 gallon long Aqueon® glass tanks. ** Tank Not Included ** Max Flow rate - 750GPH Choosing a Depth:The depth option in this listing is the height of the baffles included in the kit. The slots in the weir are 1/8" from the top of the weir baffle and they are 1" tall. The actual running depth will be a factor of baffle height and flow rate. An 8" deep set of baffles will provide an 8" water level between your inlet and the weir baffle at the maximum flow rate. At 1/2 maximum flow rate, the water level will be 1/2 way up the weir or 7 3/8" deep with 8" baffles. Choose a depth that allows enough tank capacity above the running depth to accommodate display tank draw down when your return pump is off. If you have equipment like a protein skimmers that has a manufacturer specified depth requirement, you'll want to match that as well.If your required equipment depth is deeper than your max running depth that can accommodate your draw down then choose a larger sump.If your running depth is deeper than your equipment depth but the sump can still accommodate your draw down then raise your equipment with something like a protein skimmer stand of the appropriate height.
