Description: This is the only silver specimen I have ever seen offered from the Badenweiler district, a district famous for its superb mimetite and pyromorphite specimens. Silver specimens from this district are extremely scarce partially due to the best parts of the deposit being mined out during the Middle Ages, yep the mines in this area are that old! The specimen features several beautiful little silver crystals and platelets on a quartz-cerussite matrix (right side in 2nd pic). The native silver has a thin coating of acanthite in places. If one looks down on the side or to the side of the silver crystals, one can see more native silver coated in acanthite. There are also some copper secondaries as well as some other minerals. Quite a rich little specimen. If you like odd or historic German localities, then this is the piece for you. Don't miss out, there won't be another one once this piece sells. 3x2.2x1.5 cm
