Description: Rare Eastlake Victorian Oak Chaise Lounge Fainting Couch Sofa/Fold Out Bed. This gorgeous Victorian fainting couch actually folds out into a bed. It has hinges on it and some other metal brackets that are made to support pillows when folded out. It is missing the bed support foot when folded out but does not affect its functionality as a fainting couch. A support foot could be made or found to fit this model. The bed opens to about 70" x 40". This is a strange a rare setup for this type of couch and may even be one of the first prototypes. The exact vintage is unknown to me, but I would approximate it at1890-1910. It is showing some wear on the wood but could be easily repaired, (see last photo). See photos for a better description of condition and for dimensions. This rare & historic item can be picked up at your convenience.
