Description: Rare vintage BITOSSI by ALDO LONDI for RAYMOR Large Ceramic Vase Rimini Blu Series Measures about 16.5” tall and 5.5” wide An impressive and collectible work of mid-century modern art. Stamped ITALY on the bottom. Based on my research, this vase was made by Bitossi Ceramiche in Florence, Italy and imported by Raymor, an American company, into the United States in the 1960s. Many Bitossi pieces are only marked Italy or Made in Italy because Raymor, like other large importers, asked Bitossi not to include the manufacturer’s marks on items so that consumers could not obtain them anywhere else. The original Raymor tag has been mostly removed from the bottom of the vase, but if you look carefully you can still see a small yellow piece with the word “the” next to a partial black oval, which matches the label that Raymor attached to its Bitossi vases at the time with the slogan: "MODERN in the TRADITION of GOOD TASTE." This is a preowned art piece in very good condition. Other than just a few very tiny chips at the top edge of the vase, there are no other chips and certainly no cracks.
