RARE 1939 D OREGON HALF DOLLAR PGCS MS65

Description: RARE 1939 D OREGON HALF DOLLAR PGCS MS65 Now this is a very rare coin offered here. The coin is a 1939 D Oregon half dollar. There were 3004 of these coins minted and it represents the lowest mintage year of the Oregon commemorative coins. These half dollars were struck intermittently between 1926 and 1939. Of the 6,000,000 coins that were authorized by the federal government only 260,000 coins in total were actually minted. Of these coins, 60,000 eventually were melted. Of the coins minted in 1926, 1928,1933, 1934,1936, 1937, 1938, and 1939 the 1939 was by far and away the rarest and a highly prized collector's item. This coin has a PGCS certification of MS65 with the certification number being 9353.65/12745954.
