Description: This is a pair of 18th century Qianlong era famille rose porcelain figurines - laughing man or boy, handpainted and glazed in rich colors - one of imperial yellow, the other green, both, in one hand holding an auspacious object called "Ruyi" and the other holding a gourd or seemingly a fruit. Both wear traditional Chinese silk garbs with a bat - " fu" design and typical QIng Manchu collars. The garb are shown with finely stiched dotted lines The green on, on the back again shows a bat - fu, bat similar to that of the sound happiness or luck symbol , and the yellow one, on the back are dotted with florial designs and green leaves. Bat patterns are used to represent the five blessings: health, long life, prosperity, love of virtue. This is a very rare pair that come with two different colors. In excellent condition!
