Description: Offered here is a rare Pocket Sample Book No. 1 by Tuttle Bros. of Visiting and Calling Cards. One was able to choose style of card (the white background with a variety of edges, and the stickers which would be affixed to conceal the caller’s name which was printed on the card. The type script used was also the buyer’s choice. I have had hundreds of calling cards over the last few decades, but never seen the order catalogs before. There are five sample cards and six fully illustrated cards from which to choose. The paper envelope shows some wear and tear, but these items were generally used 1870 – 1910.
