Description: Original CDV, Major General John A. "Black Jack" Logan was the Colonel of the 31st Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He was promoted to Brigadier General in 1862; wounded at Fort Donelson, later had a command of a brigade in the 1st Division in the Army of the Tennessee. He was promoted Major General in 1863, assumed command of the Army of the Tennessee after the death of General McPherson. 4" x 2.5" with clean, blank back. Excellent antique condition. 7884F
