OLD DELLA ROBBIA #1058 WESTMORELAND CO 12.5 INCH ROLLED EDGE BOWL SOME SCRATCHES

Description: Shipping with Insurance by USPS Priority Mail, or UPS or FedEx, whichever is cheaper and faster. Up for auction is a Della Robbia #1058 Westmoreland Co.12.5 Inch Diameter Rolled Edge Bowl. This was made from 1927 to 1940, making this bowl between 84 and 97 years old. This glass was made by pressing the melted glass into the mold which resulted in its beautiful design of Apples & Pears & Grapes and Leaves. It was then colored by hand using the darker colors and all of the colors of the fruits surrounding the bowl are in very good condition. However, the small round fruits on the center bottom are very light and do have some scratches, as seen in the last photograph, but when filled with fruits, these scratches cannot be seen. There are also some scratches on two opposite sides of the top of the rounded edges as seen in the 12th and 13th photographs. I only wish that I had more of this pattern because it is so beautiful. When used on a dining room table for entertainment, this bowl must have been really awesome on the table, because it is that gorgeous. It measures about 12 1/2 Inches diameter across the top, and is about 2 1/2 inches high, and sits on a round grounded base that is 4 1/4 inches across, as can be seen in the photographs. It was purchased from a very old estate sale on Long Island. Please remember that it was preowned and used, and so that's why there are scratches, both to its top as well as its bottom. I have been collecting unusual vintage objects for years and I always try to described the items as beget as I can. Except for those scratches already mentioned and photographed, there are no other scratches, or chips, fleabites, cracks, stains, cloudiness, or repairs anywhere. It comes from a smoke-free home.
