Description: This offering is for an antique ca 1890's hand made folk art woven basket. The basket is round with a hinged swing handle. The basket is made of splint and it measuring app. 9.25" in length, 8.25" in width and 10.5" in height to the top of the swing handle. The basket has a very nice mellow patina and surface which is a wonderful grayish color. When we first purchased the basket 30 years ago it was hanging from a woman's clothes line. Still being in use outdoors is what accounts for the gray coloring. The nails have rusted and stained the surrounding wood as should be expected. There is a small piece of missing splint from the bottom as seen in our close-ups, otherwise the condition is excellent. The nails have rusted but that's the only notable flaw.
