Description: Very fine polychrome decorated pottery plate, standing on integral tripod rattle type legs, with evenly segmented flange around the underside. Decorated on the interior with a large dancer with his arms thrust to the sides, head shown in profile characterized by a deformed cranium, and wearing a long feathered headdress, feathered tail, beaded necklace, wide decorated belt, ankle and wrist bracelets. Wide band surrounding the figure of geometric elements. Outer half band of profile head glyphs with geometric elements. Ceremonial kill hole in the center. Repaired from approximately four large original pieces with restoration over the break lines. Custom lucite rectangular block base. A beautiful example. Size: 12-1/2”D. x 3-1/2”H.
