Description: DATING TO THE EDWARDIAN ERA FASHIONED OF A VERY FINE WHITE BRIDAL NET THAT HAS HAND APPLIED SOUTACHE THAT RUNS OVER THE SHOULDERS IN THE FRONT AND REAR, TRIMS THE FRONT PANEL, AND TRIMS THE ENTIRE BOTTOM HEM WITH THE SKIRTING HAVING SPIRALS OF SOUTACHE THROUGHOUT. THE BOTTOM SKIRTING IS IN A COLORED CHIFFON WITH THE INNER SKIRTING IN A HORSE HAIR EDGING. THE UNDER SKIRT IS IN TULLE WITH IVORY LACE IN RUFFLES TRIMMING WITH THE LACE RISING HIGHER ON EACH SIDE. THE CUFFS ARE FINISHED IN MATCHING IVORY LACE. INNER GROSGRAIN BELTING AND A SMALL SAILOR STYLE COLLAR IN THE REAR EDGED IN BLACK LACE. THE BELTING IS UNFINISHED AS IT WOULD HAVE HAD A SILK BELTING THAT ENCIRCLED THE WAIST. CONDITION: MORE SNAPS ARE NEEDED AT THE CLOSURE WITH ONE OF THE SMALL TAB PANELS IN THE FRONT HAVING A TEAR TO THE CORNER AND IS LOOSE. THE FRONT PANEL NEEDS TO BE RE-STITCHED BACK UP ALONG THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE LEFT SIDE IS IN NEED OF ADDITIONAL SNAPS. THE SOUTACHE PANEL ON THE SHOULDER WAS ORIGINALLY ATTACHED AND A FEW STITCHES ARE NEEDED TO KEEP IT IN PLACE. THE BOTTOM CHIFFON HEM HAS SOME SMALL BREAKS AND I PERSONALLY WOULD CONSIDER REMOVING THE HORSE HAIR AS IT IS VERY FRAYED BUT HARD TO NOTE AS IS, IT COULD BE LEFT. FRESHLY HAND LAUNDERED AND FREE OF STAINING, SEVERAL SMALL TACK STITCHES COULD BE TAKEN TO THE LOOSE SOUTACHE LOOPS.
