Description: 10 rare, early, one sided Columbia Records 78s. These records have average wear-and-tear - not particularly surprising since they’re nearly 125 years old. I haven’t played them for years, so I’m only judging visually, but it looks like they should all play through (no guarantees, though). A few of them are among the earliest Columbia 10” 78s. Several have the metal grommet around the spindle. And no piccolo solos here - they’re mostly enjoyable, popular numbers. 1. Happy Days In Dixie - Charles Lowe - Climax 530 - Center spindle hole has been enlarged for a Standard Record Player. This will need to be manually centered if you’re using one of the more common record players. 2. I’se Gwine Back to Dixie - Vocal Quartette #753 - Grommet 3. That Welcome On The Mat Ain’t Meant For Me - Collins And Harlan #3650 - Grand Prize 4. Parson Jones Three Reasons - Arthur Collins - Grand Prize #3774 - This was a Columbia record repurposed as a Standard Record, so it has the larger spindle hole for those records and will need to be manually centered to play. The Standard label, however, has been removed, exposing the original Columbia label (although the label on the back of the record - the non-playing side - still says Standard Records). 5. He Done Me Wrong, or The Death Of Bill Bailey - Arthur Collins - Conditions label #1799 6. In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree - Albert Campbell, Conditions #3153. White mark on playing surface (grease pencil? shouldn’t be audible). 7. Night Alarm - Orchestra - #243 - Grommet. Grooves look stressed during the beginning of the record. 8. You’ve Got To Love Me A Lot - Ada Jones and Len Spencer - Grand Prize #3719 9. He Walked Right In, Turned Around And He Walked Right Out Again - Bob Roberts - Grand Prize #3519 10. No Wedding Bells For Me - Bob Roberts - Grand Prize #3659 By the way, these are all in sleeves. I've just taken them out in order to photograph them.
