Description: Up for sale is this sporty 1990s vintage LeGant GS World Time mechanical wristwatch. LeGant was a Swiss manufacturer of watches sold through Montgomery Ward department stores in the US through the 1980s. Seiko took over in the 90s with their movements and continued to produce this beautiful diver styled world time model. In original used condition it features a striking deep blue sunburst dial with excellent chrome hands and a day/date window at the three o’clock position. I love the 24 hour white inner chapter ring that’s in excellent condition. The combination world time/time recorder bidirectional turning bezel shows heavy wear and tear. The straight wind, 7 jewel mechanical, Japan made Seiko movement is running and keeping time. Would have originally been an automatic self winding movement but somewhere along the way the rotor has been lost. The watch functions very well though and runs for at least 40 hours on a wind. Has handy quick set day/date function. Its chrome plated upper case has typical wear all around. Very nice screw down stainless steel caseback. Domed acrylic crystal is a new replacement. This LeGant has a large sized 40 mm wide case and is very comfortable on the wrist. I don’t know its service history. It’s fitted with an equally vintage new old stock stainless steel 19 mm speedmaster style bracelet. Will fit up to a 8” wrist max with extra link included. Let me know if you have any questions.
