Description: Large Ogee Clock 1840s Mahogany Orig. Glass, Dial, Hands, Color, Movement & In Working Condition We are listing an Original Elisha Manross 1840s Ogee Shelf Clock In Orig. Case , Movement , Dial , Glass , Hands , Pendulum , Iron Weights & Hardware. You just don't find these any more in this condition. This clock has been in storage for over the last 100 years & fresh to the market. The cast iron weights need to be connected and the cords may need replacing. The George Washington reverse painted glass has some minor loss , still has over 99% of original paint , you can see the loss in the last photo. The dial glass has many bubbles and waves , no chips , cracks or breaks. The movement is dirty and will need cleaning. Has the orig. hand made pendulum and is a super rare piece to find. The makers label is mostly all there but is dirty. The wood case has some minute age dings and bumps and a couple of tiny veneer chips and it looks great with original color. Looks like it may have been re - varnished at one time long ago. The back board is also original. The size is 26 x 15 1/2 x 4" and structural very sound. We had the clock in our office and running over eight hours with out the weights hooked up. Elisha Manross Bristol Conn. 1813 / 1854 Company was then sold to Welch Clock Co.
