Description: Two original 1962-63 first pressing LPs by the great Johnny Hodges: -With Billy Strayhorn and the Orchestra, recorded December, 1961, on Verve V-8452. Produced by Creed Taylor and engineered by Rudy Van Gelder. The disc is very nearly perfect mint and plays flawlessly. One or two tiny superficial scuffs, maybe, but barely at all. The cover has only light corner wear but no seam splits or even ringwear. Really a beautiful, shiny, crisp cover. A truly top top copy. -Sandy’s Gone on 1963 Verve V-8561. Produced by Creed Taylor. The disc is in similar condition to the above disc, but maybe a few more light marks, none of which affect the play at all. Plays perfectly. The cover has a promo cutout hole at the bottom left, and some corner wear on the bottom two corners, especially the left. The top of the spine is frayed, and there is some edge wear in spots. Some ringwear as well, and general signs of use, but still nicely intact and quite clean. Both beautiful playing originals. Hard to beat.
