Description: A unique vintage reproduction German military/regimental lidded beer stein from the 1950's or early 1960's captures the rich beer culture of Germany. Measures 10.5" high to the tip of the finial, has a base diameter of 4.5", weights 2 pounds and 13 ounces, and it is in great vintage condition. Porcelain and pewter lid No chips or cracks. What is a lithophane stein? A lithophane stein is a type of porcelain beer stein that features a translucent image, known as a ‘lithophane,’ at the bottom. The image becomes visible when the empty stein is held up to light. Most lithophane steins were crafted in Bavaria and often sold to military reservists as a memento upon completing their service. This stein makes a wonderful addition to any collection and serves as an excellent conversation starter. I make every effort to ensure the accuracy of my listings.
