Description: From Homer Laughlin China, this is the much sought after Century shape. Designed in the 1930's by Frederick Rhead, it is the shape used for the solid color dinnerware line Riviera. Century was also produced with many other designs and it's ivory-colored vellum base china is beautifully glazed with a lovely soft feel. It was in production from 1931 until 1946, and I believe this plate is from 1942 based on the makings on the back. This is the 8 3/4" luncheon plate and is in excellent condition with no damage that I can see on the top, and a very small chip on the back as can be seen in the pictures. There are of course minor manufacturing flaws including some of the red color that got in the glaze in one spot as shown in the pictures. This plate will display very well and would be a great collecters item. Please check out the pictures for details. Thanks for looking!
