See description of each. 1) The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne. Illustrated by Edward A Wilson. 1959. 568 Pages. Measurements: 10 3/4" x 7 1/4" x 1 1/2". Hardcover: Blemishes on the spine. Top and bottom edges of the spine are bent. Shelf wear on the bottom of the book. Top corners are bent. Illustrated cloth covers. White end papers and pages are free of markings. Illustrations are in B&W as well as full page illustrations that are B&W with one or two colors added. Slip cover: The Mysterious Island is written in light pencil on the top of the spine. Bottom right hand corner is dented in as if it has been dropped. 2) The Master of Ballantrae by Robert Lewis Stevenson. Illustrated by Lynd Ward. 1965. 303 pages. Measurements: 10 1/4" x 6 1/2" x 1 1/4". Hardcover: Slight slant to the spine. Top and bottom edges of the spine are bent. White is showing on the bottom corners. Design on the hardcover is silver and there are blemishes on the lettering of the spine at 'of Ball'. White end papers and pages are free from writing. NOTE: there is an embossed owner's stamp on the back end paper. Illustrations are Color Lithographs: B&W with one color added. Slipcover: Silver cover has shelf wear on the top and bottom as boards are showing. Front and back of the cover have shelf wear blemishes. 3) Ommo by Herman Melville. Illustrated by Reynolds Stone. 1967. 273 pages. Measurements: 10" x 6 1/2" x 1 1/2". Hardcover: Slight slant to the spine. Top and bottom edges of the spine are bent. Shelf wear on the bottom corners and top corners are bent. Page ends are speckled. Illustrated cloth cover and spine. White end papers and pages are free from writing. NOTE: there is an embossed owner's stamp on the back end paper. Illustrations are wood engravings. All B&W. Slip cover: Blemishes on the slip cover. Crease on the right hand side at the top front of the cover. Wear on the front edges. 4) The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Illustrated by Edward A. Wilson. 1945. Pages are not numbered. Measurements: 11" x 8 1/4" x 1/2". Hardcover: Top and bottom edges of the spine are bent. Illustrated cloth covers. White end papers and pages are free from writing. There is a small hole near the bottom of the first blank page in the back. Illustrations are in color. Slip cover: Wear at the top of the spine as paper is peeling. The paper on the bottom edge is also peeling. Top and bottom edge of the front of the slipcover are showing boards. 5) Gargantua and Pantagruel: The Five Books by Francois Rabelais. Translated by Jacques LeClercq. Illustrated by Lynd Ward. 1942. Each book has its own numbers. Measurements: 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 2". Hardcover: Blemishes on the beige cloth covers and spine. Shelf wear on the bottom of the book. Illustrated end papers are clean. NOTE: on pages 108 and 109 (Book 3) there is writing in pencil in the margins and brackets in pencil at each paragraph. There is no other markings on the pages. Illustrations are in B&W. Slipcover: Edges of the slip cover are showing boards. 2 creases on the back of slip cover. Ship in a box.
