Description: HUM 283 "Feeding Time" - TMK-6 Diameter 7.685" This is the Seventeenth Edition of the Annual plate series that was produced between 1971 and 1995. A total of 25 plates, one each year was made. 1971 was the 100th Anniversary of W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik. The annual plate series was issued in commemoration of that occasion. At the end of the year of each release, all molds were destroyed. Like every charming "M.I. Hummel" collectible, the bas-relief plates are created completely by hand. Each plate measures 7.5" in diameter (this one is slightly larger), has the "M.I. Hummel" signature, and has a special inscription on the back affixed by blue decal. Each plate has the year, number in series, Hummel Number and trademark. This one is labeled "NOT TO BE USED FOR FOOD W. GOEBEL PORZELLANFABRIK HAND PAINTED M.I. HUMMEL 17th ANNUAL PLATE 1987 RODENTAL, WEST GERMANY Hum 283 TMK-6 1984". The original issue price was $135 in 1987. See the original sales receipt in the pictures! Only opened box to inspect and provide accurate item description for this listing. (Never Displayed!) Has the Goebel Missing Bee Trademark (TMK-6) stamped in Blue on backside of plate. The year "1984" is centered underneath trademark. Stamped "NOT TO BE USED FOR FOOD W. GOEBEL PORZELLANFABRIK HAND PAINTED M.I. HUMMEL 17th ANNUAL PLATE 1987 RODENTAL, WEST GERMANY Hum 283 TMK-6 1984" in blue on backside of plate. Oversized - Hummel plate exceeds the catalog's listed width of 7.5" by between an eighth of an inch and a quarter of an inch, measuring about 7.685" in diameter. Seventeenth Edition in a series of 25 Anniversary Plates produced between 1971-1995. (1987) Limited Production - Quantities produced were limited to one year of production and all molds were destroyed at the end of the year. Has original White "Goebel Collectors' Club" Pamphlet included. Has colorful "Collectibles" thick Pamphlet included. Has Original Sales Receipt in Box!! I was surprised to see the receipt under the plastic plate holder when unboxing and taking the pictures. As you can see, my mother paid the full issue price when released in 1987. Not sure if the store would accept a return nearly 40 years later, but it is included with the sale. Closed Edition. (CE) Comes with the two above referenced Goebel Pamphlets, original sales receipt plus original box with inner plastic plate holder and styrofoam protector. Hummel plate is in New In Box condition! No Repairs! No Touch Ups! No Chips! It is Glossy! Never Displayed! There is no crazing detected on the front of the plate, however there are a few small lines of crazing on the back of the plate. I only noticed them when I shined a bright light in an angle and viewed under magnification. See final picture for a close up view with light and magnification.
