Description: REDUCED: This MLB Baseball is a unique piece of historical memorabilia that features the signature of former President Gerald R. Ford who held office from 1974-77, which was a significant era in American politics. The signature has not been officially authenticated. As a former Secret Service Agent, I encountered Former President Ford more times than I can remember, most often in NYC where he visited frequently as a board member for American Express and Pam…and later in the Philadelphia District (eastern half of PA). He begrudgingly signed for personnel providing security…on one of my encounters when he visited Mansfield University where I obtained a signed ball for a former New York Field Office colleague, withstanding a mild “Goddamn baseballs” rant…though he signed that ball and continued to sign items after that. I don’t know why he carried a pen with green ink…but that tendency is reflected in a number of his signed items. Although he was not elected, he still held the nation’s highest office and was a very decent person.
