(1884 -- 1944). The General was an English adventurer known as "One Arm Sutton", after he lost part of an arm by a hand grenade at the Battle of Gallipoli and was awarded the Military Cross. Sutton held a commission in the Royal Engineers during World War I. Following the war, he built railways in Mexico and Argentina. He also mined for gold in Siberia and Korea. Sutton also travelled to USA and China. (from Wikipedia) This book was published in 1933, when Sutton was almost 50 years old. It is beautifully illustrated with old photos and with colorful maps.
