Description: Antique Photos - James Ditmars, Hannah Charlton Ditmars Two of 36 photos from an old album I purchased from a FB Marketplace seller who bought it in northwest Indiana. The album likely belonged to descendants of Thomas Gabriel and Ann Jones of Wayne County, Ohio. All the photos from this album have G23-1236 in the title. Identified in album index "James Ditmars" and "Hannah Ditmars". No photographer or location info. James is the son of William Ditmars and Martha Taylor. After Hannah died, he married Susan Johnson, their children Joanna, Ada and Laura. Hannah is the daughter of Samuel Charlton and Massy Cutter. James and Hannah are the parents of Elizabeth, William, Ellen and Martha. Their memorial id at the findagrave site is 17463218. See below the 1850 Census record for Samuel Charlton, living in Prairie, OH with his wife Massy and children Elizabeth, Frances, Maria, Agnes, Susannah, Ellenor, Ezra, Hannah and Martha. See also the 1870 Census record for William Ditmars, living in Prairie, OH with his wife Martha, children Cornelia, James, Benjamin, Ella and Douglas and (likely)father Abraham. And the 1880 Census record for James Ditmars, living in Grand River, MO with his wife Hannah and children Elizabeth, William, Ellen and Mattie. And the 1900 Census record for James Ditmars, living in Grand River, MO with his wife Susan and children Ellen/Helen, Bell/Martha. Joanna, Ada and Laura. When I provide this genealogy info, it's my best guess that it's a match for the person in the photo. Good condition. Actual size is about 2 1/2 x 4 1/8 inches.
