Description: French Porcelain Doll by Mary Van Osdall With Victorian Dress, Bonnet, & Wig. Great condition. Her head is a Jules Nicholas Steiner French Bisque Head painted by Mary Van Osdall, signed as shown. Comes with dress, matching overcoat, petticoat, bloomers, tights, bonnet and leather shoes. Dress has a Bebe pin. Dress has beautiful lace and satin embellishments. Dress has mother of pearl buttons. Comes with a synthetic red wig made by Dolls by Hilda Sieklicki. She is 23” tall. She has a made in the USA Seeley articulated, composition body, bending and rotating at her neck, shoulders, hips, knees and elbows. She has her ears pierced, but no earrings. Has a little chip on her R thumb as shown. Some staining on her bloomers as shown. Head has some wig glue at the top of her forehead that could be removed. Note that wig is somewhat frizzy, see photos. Clothes and shoes have not been removed. Comes with a letter as follows: “Pat Ikard sent me two dolls for my two granddaughters. Both dolls have porcelain faces and hands and the faces were painted by her teacher, Mary Van Osdall, deceased from cancer. Pat said she was a large sturdy woman who painted totally delicate faces on dolls. Her signature should be behind the right ear on each doll. The dress on this doll came from a lady from Germany. Some of the fabric is old and some is new. She made the hat and all of the accessories. This is a very large doll--unusual in collections. April, 2007” Stand not included. See photos for details.
