Description: The Cross of the Millennium - Signed by the artist and numbered. First State, 1995, Deluxe Edition, 1730/2000, includes lighted base and white handling gloves, care instructions and Certificate of Authenticity signed by Frederick Hart. Only one owner. Pristine condition. American master sculptor Frederick Hart gained international stature with his The Creation Sculptures above the western doors of the Washington National Cathedral, which include Ex Nihilo (Out of Nothing), Creation of Day and Creation of Night. The cathedral in Washington, D.C. is the sixth largest Gothic cathedral in the world. The works were commissioned in 1974, and dedicated between 1978-84. Also in Washington, D.C. is Hart’s bronze statue Three Soldiers, at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, dedicated by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. Hart was also commissioned to create the James Earl Carter Presidential Statue in bronze installed at the Georgia State House, Atlanta. Hart pioneered the use of clear acrylic resin to create cast figurative sculptures and patented the process by which one sculpture was embedded within another. Frederick Hart died in 1999. The sculpture comes with The Art Book "Frederick Hart, Sculptor", detailing his life and work. This sculpture is being sold for a charity event. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to New York Women in Film and Television to fund the TV Pilot "Welcome to Belle View", a female-driven half-hour dramedy series about aging, compassionate care and the small (and not so small) victories and foibles in the world of rehab and memory care. We hope to find a donor by November 15th so it can be filmed in January 2025, although we will keep this sculpture available until it sells. To the future owner of this artwork: Thank you for your support of this project. If you so desire, we would like to give you Executive Producer credit in the the film.
