It is later shown as the race was about to start. Prior to the race, Danny Yamato plays a 1997 racing video game "Gran Turismo" on the PlayStation hooked up on his car, crashing a Mitsubishi 3000GT. During the majority of the race, Danny's Civic remains 2nd behind Dominic Toretto while Brian remained 4th behind Edwin. Danny became shocked at Dom's skills when he shifted to gain the lead. The Civic later falls from 2nd place to 3rd place when Brian uses his NOS in his Eclipse to gain an advantage over Dominic Toretto.
